Provides an integrated and online processing environment for supporting the entire life cycle of magnetic ID cards and smart cards for banks, financial institutions and other organizations.

Maximus' CardMan is a very sophisticated software that enables banks, financial institutions and other organizations which are in the business of issuing magnetic ID cards and smart cards (debit cards, credit cards, etc.) to manage the entire life cycle of the cards. The application can integrate with different types of personalization machines like card printers and card embossers. The application supports the encoding of critical information pertaining to the card holders on the magnetic strips or RFID tags fixed on the cards.

CardMan supports the following business processes relating to the life cycle of the cards: Maintenance of customer records Processing of applications for issue of new cards, renewal of soon-to-expire cards and recording of lost cards Generation of PIN (New PIN, Duplicate PIN) using HSM module Generation of PIN mailers Keeping track of issue of new cards, renewal of cards and replacement of cards Keeping track of issue of add-on cards and multi-account cards Operation of card accounts for prepaid, credit, charge and deferred debit cards, as well as setting of customer and account credit limits and charging of interest and fees Online communication and validation, transfer of information with the bank host application and other centralized transaction systems (e.g. the bank switch) Printing and embossing of cards using specialized hardware in batch and online modes Encoding of critical data relating to the cardholder on the magnetic strips/RFID tags fixed on the cards.

CardMan supports the following business processes relating to the life cycle of the cards:

      Maintenance of customer records.
Processing of applications for issue of new cards, renewal of soon-to-expire cards and recording of lost cards.
Generation of PIN (New PIN, Duplicate PIN) using HSM module.
      Generation of PIN mailers.
Keeping track of issue of new cards, renewal of cards and replacement of cards.
Keeping track of issue of add-on cards and multi-account cards.
Operation of card accounts for prepaid, credit, charge and deferred debit cards, as well as setting of customer and account credit limits and charging of interest and fees.
Online communication and validation, transfer of information with the bank host application and other centralized transaction systems (e.g. the bank switch).
Printing and embossing of cards using specialized hardware in batch and online modes.
Encoding of critical data relating to the cardholder on the magnetic strips/RFID tags fixed on the cards.

The CardMan solution comes in two versions:

i. Centralized Card Management
The centralized card management system is a cost-effective solution for banks, as all the card management activities are carried out on a central system at a single location/head office.

ii. Decentralized Card Management

The decentralized card management system uses a client server application and the card management functions are divided between the central location/head office and the branches. While the functions of database maintenance and interfacing with the bank host application are carried out at the central location, the activities of user authentication, card issue, PIN generation, PIN change and loss reporting are performed at the branches.

Typically, a bank takes a minimum of 10 days to deliver the personalized cards along with the respective PIN mailers to their customers at present. The cards and PIN mailers are dispatched by the bank separately for security reasons. Under the decentralized system, the customer can get his ATM/debit card instantly. In fact, the bank branch can offer the card right at the time of opening of the account by the customer. Further, the additional activities of generating the initial PIN and dispatching of the PIN mailer are eliminated, as the customer himself can set the initial PIN at the branch on receiving his personalized card from the bank. This mode of generating the initial (and subsequent) PIN by the customer himself at the branch is much more secure, besides saving the bank the cost of dispatching the PIN mailers.

Application Features

A self-service system using electronic tokens for withdrawing cash from ATMs and Cash Dispensers attached to the bank branches.
Support for the complete set of transactions required to maintain the full life cycle of the cards.
Maintenance of customer records in a relational database.
Generation of the PIN details (new PIN, duplicate PIN) using the HSM module and generation of PIN mailers.
Support for the issue of add-on cards and multi-account cards.
Maintenance of details on card accounts (prepaid, credit, charge and deferred debit cards), setting up of customer and account credit limits, defining of loyalty programs and specification of interest and fee structure on different cards using the application’s database.
Online communication and validation, transfer of information with the bank host application and other centralized transaction systems.
Printing/embossing of cards using the specialized hardware which is integrated with the application. Batch and online modes of card personalization possible.
