Kisan-TMS is a novel application that allows a kisan (farmer) to use his kisan card as a transaction / debit card. Using his kisan card, he can purchase materials like fertilizers, seeds, agricultural implements, etc. from merchandisers who use our application. This relieves the farmer from having to carry cash for his purchases.

The system can work in both online and offline scenarios. In an offline scenario, the POS device used at the merchandiser’s shop can record relevant details of the transactions and later upload them in a batch mode to the Maximus’ ATM-Pro Controller. The ATM-Pro Controller then exchanges the transaction information and status with the respective banks. Further, the individual networks of the participating banks can be linked with Maximus’ ATM-Miniswitch to offer instant cash and other facilities.

Different two factor authentication mechanism, including card based and biometrics- based authentication, are supported. The system also includes a voice module that allows instructions and information to be given to the kisan in his local language.

	As the disbursement of loans to farmers can be linked with Kisan cards the system helps the banks of transactions done using Kisan cards.
	Reduces the work involved at bank’s end during disbursement of subsequent branches of loans, as past transaction record is readily available.
	Encourages the farmers to come into the folds of the banking system.
